We are seeking permission to have a screening of “Persepolis”, a movie by the Iranian graphic novelist, Marjane Satrapy, about her experiences growing up in Iran and France. It links, for the Symi Gallery, the activities of a graphic artist, a literary practitioner and the Symi people who work together to try to help the refugees who end up beleaguered on the island. Linked to an exhibition of women artists and a poetry event under the same name, “A Woman’s Voice”, it seems apposite to have this movie about “exile” to conclude the exhibition.
We have re-scheduled this screening for Friday 14 December due to adverse weather here in Symi!
